A time out taken.....

OK, so its been a very long time since my last post and a ton has happened in my life leading to my absence not only from this blog but even from playing Warhammer.

A friend and former regular opponent recently contacted me about a game against my Elves, which are all currently still in boxes, and soon to be appearing on EBAY!

My remaining few ogres, my wood elves and dark elves will be sold (barring any bits I want to keep), and my attention shall be firmly placed on the Beastment as the army of choice. Hopefully they wont be releasing a new book any time soon, as much as these guys are overpriced the newer books have consecutively put me off army after army, especially the elves.

So in one of only two "old books" remaining alongside Bretonnia, where you have a multitude of character options and magic items available, the Beastmen stand with one thing, options!

Given my currently limited budget and living space I want to play an aarmy that i can collect cheap (and i already have a good few bits for these guys), one thats easy -ish to paint, and one that doesn't have too many models in it (made easier in this case by overcosting).

So, I've revisited my original plan for these furry critters and still love the idea of a roaming barbaric horde, looking for something, or somethings. Ghorros Warhoof and his 9 Centigors will still be featured as a central unit with possibly a couple of tertiary Centigor units in play as well. the rest of my core will be made of Tuskgor chariots (these will actually be converted Mournfang cavalry), my speciaal choices will include Razorgors (probably made from Thunderwolves), possibly Besitgors and or minotaurs, I will have my Jabberslythe and Centigor in the rare slots, and my lords will also be mounted in Razorgor/tuskgor chariots. Although I am deciding to pretty much entirely refrain from having actual chariots and using monstery creatures that are roughly chariot sized, as I can imagine beastment taming al sorts of feral creatures of the wilds, and not building machinery. I also dont want large numbers of foot infantry, this horde roams, and as such anything not on 4 legs would likely ride something on 4 legs!

I'm particularly looking forward to making my Beastlord on Razorgor chariot - which will be riding a Grimhorn Rhinox from Forgeworld, making him a very tall very impressive centre piece for my army.

Whether this style of list will constantly loose or may just surprise me and win a few games I care not! if I can putt it off, it will look fantastic! :)
